The Groen BPP-40EC Braising Pan is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for large batch cooking. With a capacity of 40 gallons, this electrically heated tilting braising pan can saute, fry, steam, boil, and braise large quantities of food effortlessly. Despite its large cooking capacity, it has a compact size, measuring only 48" wide and 39-¾" from front to back.
The cooking surface of this braising pan is made from a 5/8" thick stainless steel clad plate that is evenly heated with flat bar electric elements. The cooking pan itself is 10" deep, 35-¾" wide, and 28-¼" long, with an emery polished interior surface finished to a 100 grit. This smooth stainless steel surface, made from a single piece of stain-resistant 304 stainless steel, features 3" radius corners to prevent food from sticking and minimize cleaning time. The pan also has graduated fill marks in both liters and gallons for precise filling.
The controls on the Groen BPP-40EC Braising Pan are user-friendly. The IPX6-rated control panel includes a temperature knob, a power switch with an indicator light, a heat indicator light, and a 3-position tilt switch. Tilting the pan is quick, easy, and accurate with the 3-position switch, and there is also a manual override for tilting in case of power loss. The temperature can be set from 175 to 400°F, and the unit has thermostatic control to automatically turn off when the set temperature is reached and power back on when the temperature drops. For safety, the pan is equipped with a high limit thermostat.
The exterior of the braising pan has a #3 finish, which not only looks great but is also easy to clean. It sits on a tubular open leg stand, making it easy to clean under and around the unit. All four legs have adjustable bullet feet to ensure the pan is level. Additionally, a faucet bracket is included for optional faucet installation on the left, right, or right rear of the pan.
The Groen BPP-40EC Braising Pan is available in five different voltage and phase configurations, catering to various electrical setups. It is proudly made in the USA and holds cUL, UL, and NSF certifications, ensuring its quality and safety standards.
