Indoor walk-in units, such as the Nor-Lake KLB8768-C 6' x 8' x 8'-7" H Kold Locker, are the ideal solution for businesses that need to efficiently handle refrigerated goods in bulk. These units are designed with 4" thick panels that are insulated with foamed-in-place polyurethane to keep heat out. Each panel is made with 26 gauge corrosion-resistant stucco embossed coated steel on both sides. The Kold Locker walk-in units are easy to assemble, with male and female mating rails on each panel for easy alignment, and foamed-in-place cam locking fasteners to ensure an airtight seal. The corners of the unit feature panel gaskets that go around the exterior perimeter continuously, without any breaks or cuts. The ceiling and floor panels have foamed-in-place edge caps to secure them for the life of the unit. The standard door that comes with this unit is 26" wide and features a stepped profile to provide a barrier against airflow for increased energy efficiency. A wider 30" door can be selected at no extra cost. The door is equipped with stainless steel kick plate for additional protection. The two cam-lift hinges on the door can be installed on either the right or left and are field-adjustable to ensure smooth opening and closing with a secure seal. A spring-assisted door closer is included to prevent the door from being left ajar. The door comes pre-hung in a 4' wide panel and includes a replaceable perimeter heating wire, magnetic stainless steel trim, a digital thermometer, a vapor proof LED lighting fixture, and a switch with an exterior indicator light. The door can be secured with an NL 9800 deadbolt locking handle with an independent key/padlock feature, and a safety release is included to prevent workers from being locked inside. The interior temperature of the unit is efficiently maintained between 35°F and 38°F by the 4 RCPB050JC-S-0-EV Capsule Pak Refrigeration System in the ceiling, which produces 4060 BTU/hr of heat rejection. The Capsule Pak unit is equipped with the Enviro-Control electronic control system to adjust the temperature and set the timing for automatic defrosting.
