The Short Series™ Steam Jacketed Kettle is an electric kettle with a 40-gallon capacity. It features a full steam jacket design and a 34.8" rim height. The kettle is constructed with stainless steel and has an open tri-leg base. It comes with solid-state temperature controls, a power on/off switch, a drain strainer, and a faucet mounting bracket. The kettle also has a spring-assisted cover, a 2" tangent draw-off valve, and a 50 psi rating.
Some of the standard features of the kettle include a 50 psi safety valve, a faucet mounting bracket, water-resistant controls, and a splash-proof element cover. It also has a 2" diameter tangent draw-off valve with a drain strainer. The kettle has typical approvals such as UL, CSA, CE, NSF, and ASME. The standard voltage is 208-240 volts, 60 Hz, 3-phase, 3-wire. It has a 50 psi steam jacket rating for higher cooking temperatures.
The kettle is self-contained and easily installed with only an electrical hook-up required. It has a solid-state water level control and a tri-leg support with level adjustable feet for floor bolting. The steam jacket is filled with treated water, eliminating the need for venting or refilling. The kettle has welded-in heating elements for better vacuum holding and prevention of leaks. It also has a reinforced rolled rim design to prevent damage and eliminate "bar rim designs".
The kettle is made of type 304 stainless steel with a #4 finish, making it easy to clean. It has a rear-mounted easy access pressure gauge and pressure relief valve to prevent tampering. The control panel includes a power on/off switch, LED indicators for low water and heat cycle, and an adjustable temperature control dial. The kettle has accurate and consistent solid-state temperature controls with less than ±1°C variance.
There are various options and accessories available for the kettle, including lift-off covers, drain strainers, kettle markings, and measuring strips. Correctional packages, water meter stands, alternate mounting systems, insulated outer jackets, swing funnels for drain, heat deflector shields, high wattages, and special voltages are also available.
