The Southbend SSB-36 Platinum Series Steakhouse Broiler/Griddle is a game-changer for food service establishments that need to produce large quantities of food every day. This gas-powered 2-in-1 combination features a griddle that is perfect for searing meats and sealing in their juices before they are broiled.
 
 Built with durability in mind, this unit is constructed with stainless steel on the front, back, sides, cradle, and carriage.  The broiler utilizes radiant heat to quickly cook a variety of meats. Each variable burner control valve allows for precise heat control in different sections of the broiler, making it ideal for cooking various food items that require different temperatures. Additionally, all knobs and handles remain cool to the touch, ensuring safety during operation.
 
 The griddle broiler rack is equipped with concealed roller bearings, allowing for smooth sliding to place food items. The rack can be set in nine different positions using a paddle release mechanism. The chrome-plated grids heat up quickly and retain heat for extended periods, while also preventing food from sticking and facilitating easy cleaning. A 7 3/4-quart grease drawer collects grease spills, which can be easily removed and disposed of at the end of the day.
 
 The griddle on top provides ample cooking surface for preparing steaks, kebabs, sliders, and other meat dishes. The 1/2"-thick plate heats up rapidly and recovers quickly when in contact with cold food items. To prevent grease splatters, the plate is equipped with 4" splash guards on the rear and sides. It also features a removable grease catch that can hold up to 2 1/2 quarts of grease drippings.
 
 The Southbend SSB-36 is mounted on a 27 1/2" equipment stand, which includes an open shelf for additional storage. The stand has adjustable legs and optional casters, with the option to add a cable restraint kit for added stability. This unit can also be mounted on a countertop, cabinet base, or refrigerator/freezer base. Southbend offers its own line of high-quality refrigerator bases for further customization
