The AccuTemp GGF1201B4850-S2 Accu-Steam™ Countertop Griddle is a stand-mounted model that offers a generous cooking area of 1,150 sq. in. It is powered by natural gas and has a total output of 85,000 BTU/hr. What sets this griddle apart from others is its unique heating system. Instead of relying on multiple burners, it uses a patented hermetically sealed vacuum chamber heated with infrared burners. This vacuum chamber is maintenance-free and does not require refilling, similar to jacketed steam kettles. The griddle plate is made from 7 gauge stainless steel that is polished cold-rolled to prevent food from sticking. Although it may seem thin, the steam used for heating allows for quick recovery time. This is because the steam naturally heats the cold spots on the griddle plate to match the rest of the surface. Managing grease on the cooking surface is made easy with a 3-½” wide, ½” deep grease trough that runs the full width of the griddle. It leads to a 6-½ quart grease pan, which can be easily accessed from the front of the unit through a grease drawer. The pan also includes a weep hole to indicate when it is full. The Accu-Steam™ Countertop Griddle is ENERGY STAR compliant, making it energy-efficient and cost-effective. It comes with a 5-foot power cord and a NEMA 5-15 plug for use with 120/60/1-ph power. The griddle is also equipped with casters, allowing for easy mobility when needed. In terms of control features, the griddle offers a control guard, heating indicator light, 3 preset temperatures, over temperature indicator light, instant surface temperature readout, and easy front service access to controls. It also has a digital thermostat with a temperature range of 200-400°F (93-204°C) and a manager mode to lock out temperature controls. Construction-wise, the griddle features a control guard, a 3 7/8” wide by ½” deep full front grease trough, a drop chute leading to a grease pan with varying capacities depending on the size of the griddle, a 7 gauge griddle plate with a rear splash and tapered side walls, and a cold-rolled and annealed stainless steel griddle plate with a polished stainless steel body.
